TR60+ Composite Floor Decking
TR60+ is a 60mm deep trapezoidal composite steel floor decking profile with a 1,000mm cover width, making it the widest sheet in the RMD Profiles floor decking range. The increased cover width means fewer sheets per floor plate, reducing joint lines, fixing points, and overall installation time.
Compared to standard 600mm profiles, TR60+ can cover the same floor area with up to one-third fewer sheets, significantly reducing labour and improving installation efficiency. This makes it one of the most cost-effective trapezoidal decking options per m², particularly on large floor plates where speed and productivity are critical.
With unpropped spans in excess of 3.5 metres, TR60+ is well suited to first-floor construction and projects where reduced sheet handling, faster installation, and lower labour costs are key priorities. The profile delivers a practical balance between span capability and installation efficiency, making it a strong choice for commercial and industrial applications.
TR60+ prices start from £13/m² (supply only)

Panel Weight Reference
Approximate weight of a single TR60+ sheet at 3 metres length and 1,000mm cover width (panel area = 3.00 m²). The wider cover means each panel is heavier than an equivalent 600mm sheet, so ensure site handling procedures account for this, particularly on upper floors without crane access.
| Gauge | kg/m² | Approx panel weight (3m sheet, 1,000mm cover) |
|---|---|---|
| 0.9mm | 10.03 | ~30 kg |
| 1.0mm | 11.12 | ~33 kg |
| 1.2mm | 13.33 | ~40 kg |
Concrete Volume per m²
Normal weight concrete (NWC). Deck and mesh weight not included. Ponding allowance not included. TR60+ uses less concrete per unit slab depth than re-entrant profiles, which reduces wet dead loads and lowers concrete supply costs on larger floor plates. Source: RMD Profiles TR60+ datasheet.
| Slab depth (mm) | Concrete vol (m³/m²) | Wet weight NWC (kN/m²) | Dry weight NWC (kN/m²) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 120 (min, 60 min fire) | 0.086 | 2.02 | 1.98 |
| 130 | 0.096 | 2.26 | 2.21 |
| 140 (min, 90 min fire) | 0.106 | 2.50 | 2.44 |
| 150 | 0.116 | 2.73 | 2.67 |
| 155 (min, 120 min fire) | 0.121 | 2.85 | 2.79 |
| 175 | 0.141 | 3.32 | 3.25 |
| 200 | 0.166 | 3.91 | 3.83 |
Fire Performance
Fire design in accordance with SCI PN005c-GB and BS 5950 Part 8. Minimum slab depths shown are for normal weight concrete (NWC) and lightweight concrete (LWC) with fabric mesh reinforcement. The TAB-Deck fibre concrete option achieves equivalent fire performance at the same minimum slab depths. Contact RMD Profiles for project-specific confirmation.
| Fire rating | Min slab depth, NWC | Min slab depth, LWC |
|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | 120mm | 120mm |
| 1.5 hours | 140mm | 130mm |
| 2 hours | 155mm | 140mm |
| 3 hours | 175mm | 160mm |
| 4 hours | 190mm | 175mm |
Mesh requirements increase with fire period and span. A142 mesh is sufficient for many 1-hour designs. At 1.5-hour and 2-hour fire periods, A193 or A252 mesh will typically be required depending on span and applied load. Contact our team or use the chat assistant to confirm reinforcement requirements for your specific project.
Finishes and Options
- Galvanised Z275 — standard coating, suitable for most internal applications
- High durability ZM310 — enhanced zinc-magnesium coating for more demanding environments
- TAB-Deck fibre concrete — available as an alternative to fabric mesh, simplifying site reinforcement operations
Why Specify TR60+?
The 1,000mm cover width is the single most commercially compelling feature of TR60+. A floor plate that would require 1,000 individual sheets with a 600mm profile requires only 600 with TR60+. That is 400 fewer lifts, 400 fewer sheet end fixings, and 400 fewer side lap screw runs. On a large commercial or residential floor plate, the saving in installation labour and programme time is significant and directly measurable.
TR60+ is often specified where large floor areas need to be installed quickly with minimal labour and handling, making it particularly effective on projects with tight programmes or restricted site access.
At 0.9mm gauge the profile weighs just 10.03 kg/m², giving a 3 metre sheet weight of around 30 kg. Despite the wider panel, two operatives can handle sheets comfortably without additional mechanical assistance. Combined with the fast installation that comes from covering more area per sheet, TR60+ consistently delivers a lower installed cost per m² than narrower trapezoidal profiles on comparable spans.
Unpropped spans in excess of 3.5 metres make TR60+ well suited to first-floor construction where propping from below is inconvenient or impractical. The trough stiffeners are positioned to guarantee central shear stud placement without additional site checking, keeping installation consistent throughout the pour and reducing the likelihood of non-compliance inspections causing programme delays.
