ComFlor 100 Composite Floor Decking
ComFlor 100 is a 100mm deep trapezoidal composite floor deck designed for long span construction where temporary propping needs to be reduced or eliminated entirely. It is one of the most versatile profiles in the composite decking range, compatible with steel frames, non-composite steel beams, concrete beams, and masonry supports, giving structural engineers greater flexibility in the choice of primary frame and connection detail.
The simple nestable trapezoidal profile shape keeps transport and handling costs low, allows more square metres per bundle, and is as straightforward to install as a roof deck. The result is a long span composite floor solution that performs well across a wide range of structural arrangements and is particularly well suited to projects where conventional through-deck stud welding to composite beams is not the design approach.
Please note: ComFlor 100 is a made-to-order product and is not held in our stocked range. Lead times are typically 2 to 3 weeks from order confirmation. We recommend contacting our team at the earliest opportunity to confirm availability and programme fit before specifying. Contact us on 01787 275055 or email sales@rmdp.co.uk.

Panel Weight Reference
Approximate weight of a single ComFlor 100 sheet at 3 metres length and 700mm cover width (panel area = 2.10 m²).
| Gauge | kg/m² | Approx panel weight (3m sheet) |
|---|---|---|
| 0.9mm | 12.2 | ~26 kg |

Concrete Volume per m²
Normal weight concrete (NWC) and lightweight concrete (LWC). Deck and mesh weight not included. Ponding allowance not included. The 100mm deep profile displaces a significant volume of concrete within the rib, giving a lower concrete volume per m² than shallower profiles at equivalent total slab depths. Fire Performance
Fire design for ComFlor 100 is in accordance with SCI Publication P359 and BS 5950 Part 8. The minimum slab depth required for each fire period depends on span, applied load, gauge, and concrete type. Because of the range of structural configurations this profile is used in (including non-composite beams and masonry supports), fire design is project-specific and the figures below are indicative only. Contact our technical team for confirmation on your specific project.
| Fire rating | Indicative min slab depth, NWC | Indicative min slab depth, LWC |
|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | 160mm | 150mm |
| 1.5 hours | 170mm | 160mm |
| 2 hours | 180mm | 170mm |
| 3 hours | 210mm | 195mm |
| 4 hours | 230mm | 210mm |
Actual minimum slab depths depend on span, applied load, gauge, and reinforcement specification. Bar reinforcement in troughs may be required at higher fire periods or longer spans. Contact our team or use the chat assistant to confirm requirements for your specific project before proceeding to detailed design.
Finishes and Options
- Galvanised Z275 (Galvatite) — standard coating, hot dip zinc coated to BS EN 10346, suitable for internal floors in non-aggressive environments
- Nestable profile — sheets stack inside one another, maximising m² per bundle and reducing transport cost for large or export projects
Supply and Design Service
Because ComFlor 100 is a made-to-order profile with a 2 to 3 week lead time, getting the order placed early and the design confirmed in parallel is important for programme. Our Supply and Design service is set up to make exactly that process as smooth as possible.
Our team will produce layout drawings and deck arrangement plans tailored to your floor plate, coordinating with your structural engineer to get the design approved without unnecessary back and forth. Once the layout is signed off, we schedule and submit directly to the production team on your behalf, so nothing sits waiting for a handoff. You deal with one point of contact from initial design query through to delivery confirmation.
For a long span profile on a non-standard structural arrangement, having that focused attention on the layout from day one reduces the risk of design queries holding up procurement, and means the 2 to 3 week production window starts from a clean, approved position rather than a tentative one.

Why Specify ComFlor 100?
ComFlor 100 is specified when the primary structural arrangement rules out the standard composite beam and deck approach. Where the supporting beams are concrete, masonry, or non-composite steel, most of the profiles in the range cannot deliver composite action. ComFlor 100 can, and it does so across long unpropped spans that would require propping with a shallower profile.
The nestable trapezoidal shape is an underrated practical advantage. Where ComFlor 60 or ComFlor 80 requires careful stacking to avoid profile interlocking on site, ComFlor 100 sheets drop neatly inside one another. On a fast-moving structural frame where deck bundles need to be craned to upper floors promptly, the handling simplicity of a nestable profile saves real time.
The 100mm rib depth displaces a significant volume within the trough, keeping total concrete volumes lower than a solid slab at equivalent depth. At a 200mm total slab depth, the concrete volume is just 0.140 m³/m², compared with 0.200 m³/m² for a solid slab of the same depth. That reduction carries through to lower foundation loads and lower concrete supply costs across the whole floor plate.
Typical Applications
- Long span floors on steel frames where reduced or eliminated temporary propping is a design priority
- Projects with non-composite steel beams, concrete beams, or masonry supports where standard composite profiles are not appropriate
- Export and overseas projects where nestable profile and container efficiency reduce logistics cost
- Refurbishment projects where the supporting structure is existing concrete or masonry
